First Aid & CPR/AED Course Disclaimer
For most individuals, the physical activity involved in the course should not pose a threat to their health. A small number of individuals may find the physical skill demonstrations required by the Canadian Red Cross strenuous. If you have a history of heart attack, heart conditions, respiratory problems, physical disabilities, are pregnant, or have muscle, bone, or joint injuries, we strongly recommend that you do not participate in the skills portion of the course until you consult a physician. If you are unsure as to whether or not you should participate in your scheduled course, please call us directly. If you wish to remain in the course but cannot physically perform all of the skills required by the Canadian Red Cross you will receive a participation card instead of a wallet certification card.
Blended/Online Training
Blended/online learning candidates must complete the blended/online learning prior to their selected in-class sessions. Candidates that do not complete the online component before attending the in-class session will be required to re-register and pay for another session.
Recertification
Recertification candidates must bring their current, original and not expired certification card to show their instructor. If candidates show up without their certification card, they may stay and participate, however, a recertification will not be issued until proof of eligibility can be produced. CPR/AED certifications may continually be recertified as long as they do not expire. Once expired, they may not be recertified again and candidates must re-register for a full CPR/AED course. SFA/CPR may be recertified 1 time only as long as the certification is current and not expired (no grace period). Once a candidate has recertified once, they must then retake the full certification the next time. Candidates who attend a recertification class that do not meet eligibility will not be permitted to stay and will need to re-register and repay for another session.
